Total-Immersion Japanese Language
&
Culture Camp for High School Students

October 15, 2007

Dear Student:

You are making the right choice to spend a fun, fulfilling weekend immersed in Japanese.  It won’t be long before you find yourself immersed in a Japanese-speaking world.  Over the course of the two days, you will discover just how much you have already learned to communicate in Japanese, as well as how quickly you can learn even more.  You will meet new people and hopefully, discover new things about yourself!

To make your camp experience as successful as possible, we’d like to ask that you take this adventure seriously.  Start preparing for the camp now.  Practice speaking Japanese for extended periods of time outside of the classroom.

We have listed below the rules and guidelines of the camp.  You will be selected to attend the camp based on your application and teacher recommendation.  Teacher recommendations will be based on the following:

  • behavior

  • language ability

  • motivation

  • attitude

  • discipline

  • respect

  • adaptability

You’ll find enclosed (1) Camp Rules, (2) Camp History, and (3) Student application/Teacher recommendation forms.  Read through each carefully and submit your completed application to you Japanese teacher.  We hope to see you at the Camp in March.

Good luck!

Sincerely,

Taeko Tashibu
